KOCHI: The Kochi Branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has won Dr S S Rao Award for the best IMA branch. The Kochi branch won the award for its activities including medical and blood donation camps, campaigns for creating awareness on blood donation, trauma care programme for the police, social security campaigns for doctors and campaign on medical ethics in Kerala and Lakshadweep areas.Kochi Branch secretary Dr M Narayanan won the award for the best secretary and the president Dr S Sachidananda Kamath won the award for his commendable efforts towards the blood bank. Drs Abraham Varghese and M M Hassan were also honoured. WIMA Kochi won the award for the third best branch. The IMA state president Dr G Vijayakumar gave away the awards at a function held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
