Kiren Rijiju makes aerial survey of flood-hit Manipur
Rijiju told the media at the airport that Rs 8.5 crore would be sanctioned immediately from the National Disaster
Response Force fund for emergency relief work in the state on his return to New Delhi.

Imphal: Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju today made an aerial survey of the landslide and flood-affected areas in Manipur. He was accompanied by Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh.

Rijiju told the media at the airport that Rs 8.5 crore would be sanctioned immediately from the National Disaster Response Force fund for emergency relief work in the state on his return to New Delhi.

The Minister said that he would send a central team to assess the damage wrought by the recent landslide and flood in the state. Further funds would be sanctioned on the basis of the assessment.

After staying for a few hours in the state, both the Union ministers left Manipur for New Delhi, official sources said.
