CHENNAI: In yet another move to express solidarity of the historical relationship between the State and its neighbour Kerala, Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peramaippu (Confederation of Trade Body Associations in Tamil Nadu) convened a meeting of Federation of All India Malayalee Associations (FAIMA), Madras Kerala Samaj(MKS), Chennai Metro Teashop Owners’ Association and other Malayali associations to form a coordination committee to work towards spreading goodwill attitude among people from both States in solving the Mullaiperiyar row.The committee comprises 16 members with representatives from the various malayalee associations. The committee condemned the remarks of the Union Minister Narayanasamy who claimed that the Prime Minister can intervene only when both the States withdraw their petitions from the Supreme Court.“It only shows that the Centre has deviated from its duty”, said AM Vikaramaraja and K Mohan of the confederation. “We will continue our support for both the States which are trying to ensure the safety of the people and the formation of the coordination committee is to ensure that the brotherly ties among the States was not disrupted”, they said.
