THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Yathra led by All-India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar will conclude at Chandrashekaran Nair stadium here on Saturday. Thousands of people from across the state are expected to participate in the concluding ceremony. Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Sayed Umarul Farooq said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the valedictory function at 4.30 p.m. Around 25,000 cadres in special uniform will take out a march marking the beginning of the valedictory function. The march named ‘brotherhood rally’ will begin from Putharikkandam Maidan at 3 p.m. All-India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar, who will preside over the function, will administer the oath of brotherhood. Ministers Aryadan Mohammed, V S Sivakumar, Chief Whip P C George, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, Shashi Tharoor MP, K Muraleedharan MLA, M Vijayakumar, K E Ismail and RSP general secretary T J Chandrachoodan will speak at the function. Thiruvananthapuram Major Archbishop Baselios Mar Clemis and Shanthigiri Ashram organising secretary Gururathnam Gyanathapaswi will be the chief guests. Workers from across the state will be reaching the capital city in more than 5,000-odd vehicles, including a special train starting from Manglore which will reach here 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Kerala Yathra which began from Kasargod on April 12, was accorded reception at 60 places before the concluding ceremony at the state capital.
