Father Saji Joseph Avangattu, a resident of Kottiyoor in Kannur district, has been absconding since a case was registered against him on July 13. He was finally arrested from Mangalore. He will be produced in court on Tuesday.
The issue came to light after the children told their family about the sexual assault. The family informed the school authorities who got in touch with the police and the children helpline.
Police are also investigating if he had subjected more children to sexual abuse.
