BANGALORE: Thirty-seven-year-old Joseph, a business man from Kenya, has come all the way from Kenya to undergo an open heart surgery at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in the city.
Joseph who has undergone the triple valve procedure has come to the hospital with the symptoms of breathing difficulty, fatigue and tiredness. According to Dr C N Manjunath, medical director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Research, one of his right side valves is not properly closing, resulting in leakage of blood and gross enlargement of heart chambers.

A team comprising Dr Seetharama Bhat, cardiothoracic surgeon at the institute conducted a surgery replacing both mitral and aortic valve with artificial tissue valves and the right sided tricuspid valve was also repaired.
