Bengaluru: The Pre-University Principals' Association in Karnataka has issued a controversial set of guidelines to pre-university colleges in South Bengaluru over safety and security of women. Colleges will be expected to monitor the time when female students enter and exit the college.
College authorities also have to ensure that birthday parties and cultural celebrations take place during the day time. They now have the right to even monitor the internet activities of college students.
The Secretary of the Pre-univerity college Pricipals' association has told CNN-IBN said that the directives are just recommendations. The 34-point guidelines were drafted by the PU college principals' association. Reportedly, getting personal information of students especially girl students with the consent of parents will be allowed according to the recommendations.
