The CID has charged him under offences of acts or gestures that are intended to insult the modesty of women.

Bangalore: The Karnataka CID has filed a charge sheet under laws on eve-teasing, against its senior IPS officer Dr P Ravindranath. The officer, an Additional Director General of Police has been booked for allegedly taking pictures of girls at a cafe in central Bangalore last month.

The CID has charged him under offences of acts or gestures that are intended to insult the modesty of women. At the same time, it has also recommended that a sub-inspector, who was the first to register a complaint against the ADGP, should be suspended.

The recommendation comes as the CID found proof of disrespectful behaviour to his senior officer when the victim was lodging a complaint.

This incident had led to a fight between Ravindranath and Commissioner of Police, Bangalore Raghavendra Auradkar.
