Mumbai: US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Mumbai late Tuesday night. During his Mumbai visit, he will focus on the US-India trade partnership. He is expected to speak at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
He will also attend a round table conference with Indian business leaders later in the day at the Hotel Taj Mahal. On Thursday, he is scheduled to pay a visit to the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), at Powai in central suburban Mumbai.
Biden is accomapnied by his wife, US Second Lady Jill Biden, their daughter Ashley and son-in-law Howard D Crein. Shortly after arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, they left by road to their hotel in south Mumbai.
During the course of his visit, the Bidens will also visit the new premises of the US Consulate at Bandra-Kurla Complex and interact with the staff here, the spokesperson added
Biden, who was on a four-day visit to India, arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday.
