TIRUVANNAMALAI/VELLORE: Seven gold chains were stolen from a jewellery store in Cheyyar on Sunday. Police are on hunt for culprits based on the videos recorded at the store’s surveillance camera.It is said that three women entered a jewellery store in Cheyyar town, on Sunday. They had asked for some jewellery to buy and left the shop after sometime stating that they did not like the designs.Following this, the employees in the shop found seven ‘thali’ chains missing. Video clippings in the camera recorded the women putting the box containing the jewels inside their bag. The stolen jewellery has been estimated to be about 28 sovereigns worth `6 lakh. Police are investigating. Girl ElectrocutedDhayashree of Sangarishikuppam near Gudiyatham , on Sunday, had gone with her mother to a nearby field, where she was playing and unknowingly touched a live wire in a pump room there. She was electrocuted and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died later. Police have registered a case.One Killed, 3 hurt One person, Karthi (18) of Kancheepuram,  was killed and three others, Manigandan (28), Gnanamani (18) and Kaviyarasu (18) were injured in a mishap near Ambur, on Monday.The incident took place when two lorries, one containing iron rods and the other carrying plastics, proceeding from Chennai reached near Ambur, one of the lorries which tried to overtake the other collided with the previous one. Police have filed a case.
