CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be taking part in the Chief Ministers’ conference convened at New Delhi by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on April 16 to discuss matters relating to internal security.Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi, Home Secretary R Rajagopal and top police officials are likely to accompany her. As the State Assembly is in session, the CM is likely to return to Chennai on April 16.Initially, the agenda for the April 16 meeting included the formation of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC). Jayalalithaa wrote to the PM seeking a separate meeting for discussing NCTC. Acceding to her request, the PM convened another meeting of CMs to discuss the NCTC on May 5. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram wrote a letter to the CM asking her take part in both meetings scheduled for April 16 and May 5.
