New Delhi: A Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader on Monday met party president Amit Shah and sought his permission to hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, saying it would be a befitting reply to anti-national forces whose
activities, he said, have increased in the valley.
Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, a national executive member of BJP's ST Morcha, told Shah that hoisting the flag on August 15 would boost nationalist forces in the Kashmir Valley.
"The anti-national forces which have been raising pro-Pakistan slogans and hoisting its flag will also get a befitting reply with the hoisting of the national Tricolour in the heart of Srinagar," he said in a statement.
The ST Morcha leader also demanded a special package for Gujjar and Bakkerwal communities in the state.
