New Delhi: In a major embarrassment for the Pakistani establishment, the chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff Mike Mullen has warned the ISI is fomenting "chaotic activity" in Kashmir and Afghanistan.
Mullen has asked the Pakistani spy agency to change its "strategic thrust".
The US is having "discussions" with the Pakistani leadership on this issue.
Pakistani Defence Analyst Gen Talat Masood says he is surprised by Mullens comment
“Top leadership of America has been making very contradictory statements all along. They have also said that Pak has made qualitative change and they have been praising Pak. So this comes as a surprise to me as well. I am of the view that there is greater realisation on the part of both military and the civil that the answer to Pak problems is much better coordination, corporation among the major pillars of the state. If that not be the case, then we are facing a very serious situation,” he said.
Pakistan has yet again alleged that India is running terror training camps for Baloch youth in Afghanistan.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik told parliament on Friday that Indian intelligence agencies were running training camps in Afghanistan to foment unrest in Balochistan.
Malik told the Senate or upper house of parliament that alleged terrorist training camps in Afghanistan were training Baloch youth to create disturbances in the southwestern province.
Malik told the senate that these camps were being run by Indian intelligence agencies and that Afgan president Hamid Karzai had assured him that these terrorist training camps in Afghanistan would be closed.
