CHENNAI: Months after the Assembly poll defeat, DMK leader Karunanidhi on Friday said that the “intra-party rivalry” and “actions of certain functionaries” were behind one of the biggest defeat faced by the party.Writing for the party organ Murasoli, he urged his partymen to slog for the success of the party in the civic polls to teach the “autocratic” AIADMK regime a fitting lesson. “Remember, we are fighting against a party that is in the pinnacle of arrogance with a brute strength after a big win in the assembly polls.” Reasoning that intra-party rivalry and the actions of certain functionaries led to a “very big defeat”, he asked the cadre to tell the people about the way in which the AIADMK treated its allies.
