Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the sensational murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora, regained consciousness and is out of danger, hospital authorities said on Sunday. Indran's statement is likely to be recorded on Monday in the presence of Inspector General (IG) Prison, sources said.
According to the sources, inquiry team will go by forensic lab report.
There are conflicting forensic findings on suspected drug overdose leading to Indrani's hospitalisation.
Lahane said Indrani's condition has improved, she is conscious and responding to oral commands, adding that she will be discharged within 48 hours. He added that the forensic report is authentic but the Hinduja Hospital report is yet to come.
43-year-old Indrani was rushed to JJ hospital from Byculla jail on Friday afternoon in an unconscious condition after she allegedly overdosed on anti-depressant pills.
The Forensic Science Laboratory reports accessed by CNN-IBN showed no traces of chemicals in Indrani's blood and urine samples.
Wife of media baron Peter Mukerjea, Indrani was arrested by Khar Police on August 25 for her alleged role in the murder of Sheena. Indrani's daughter Sheena, 24, was allegedly kidnapped from outside National College in Bandra and strangled to death in a car by Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai.
