Indian Air Force helicopter forced to make unscheduled landing
An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter made an unscheduled landing on Thursday due to bad weather near Mehsana, around 75 kms from in Ahmedabad, an IAF official said. "An MI-17 helicopter, which was headed to Ahmedabad from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, had to make an unscheduled landing near Mehsana because of bad weather conditions," IAF spokesperson MG Mehta told PTI on Thursday.

After weather conditions became conducive, the helicopter, which carried three army personnel, reached Ahmedabad as per schedule, he said. On Wednesday, a privately-owned helicopter, carrying three passengers including Narayan Sai, son of controversial godman Asaram Bapu, had crashlanded in a cemetery in Gomtipur area of the city in Ahmedabad.

However, there were no casualties and everybody, including the chopper pilot, escaped unhurt.
