Children are rightfully called the avatar of the Gods; especially due to their honesty and innocence. A little girl from the state of Kerala is grabbing headlines for writing a poem for a textbook in fifth grade, while she is in third grade.

The young woman is named Jasa and is the daughter of Puthanangadi Kizhakkethalakkal Anwar and Aneesa, residents of Karinkallathani in Malappuram district, Kerala. Local18 reports exclusively that Jasa wrote a short poem, which is being included in a textbook for fifth graders. As per more reports, Jasa is a student in third grade at the LP School.

The poem written by Jasa is about Kashmir. It starts with the lines, “May I give you a kiss, O Kashmir, dressed in a snow cap, in a green wooden robe, covered with flowers, covered with flowers?” The following lines create an image of the place in our minds.

Local18 reports further that the teacher at the LP School gave an activity to the students, where they had to write a diary entry and present it on the stage. So, Jasa’s poem was noticed by the teachers which included Narayana Mash, and they encouraged its publication. Two notes were selected from the piece written by Jaya for text inclusion.

In similar news, the collaborative efforts for a poetry workshop library and writers were found to be very beneficial to the children of the village of Bansa, located in the Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh. As per more reports, these workshops are being held from May for the children who are in the grades 5th and 8th, studying in Hindi medium schools. The collaboration was done by the Bansa Community Library, writer Garima Mishra and the Lampshade Writers. Garima communicates with the kids from Pune, telling them stories of Rabindranath Tagore.
