New Delhi: 'Aashiqui 2' ruled the charts all of 2013. The soulful numbers struck a chord with all age groups and became a part of everyone's playlist last year. So it isn't surprising to see singer Arijit Singh leading the poll of Best Playback Singer (Male) category.
Singh, who has been nominated for two songs- one from 'Aashiqui 2' and other from 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' , gained popularity initially in 2012 for his songs in 'Agent Vinod' and 'Barfi!'. The success of 'Aashiqui 2' has cemented his place in the big league. More that 67 percent votes have gone to Arijit's rendition of 'Kyu Ki Tum Hi Ho' from 'Aashiqui 2'.
Ankit Tiwari is a far second with 12 percent vote for his song 'Sun Raha Hai Na' from the same film. Surprisingly Yo Yo Honey Singh's foot tapping number 'Lungi Dance' from 'Chennai Express' has so far just garnered 4 percent votes for readers.
