I don't interact with my co-stars: Sonam

At the press conference to unveil the trailer of their upcoming film Mausam, there was no missing the extremely comfortable chemistry shared by Shahid Kapoor and Sonam on the dias. While the 26-year-old actress giggled and spoke aloud her thoughts about films, fashion and more, Shahid was the one who stood by her when she mumbled or faltered while the media threw a volley of questions at her.

Their camaraderie was apparent and Sonam admitted that they became fast 'friends' while they filmed the intensely emotional scenes of the film in India and Scotland. No wonder when Shahid addressed Sonam for the first time during the media interaction, he called out, "Sonam, let them know you are beauty and brains both."

Their off-screen chemistry exuded comfort and concern for each other, and came as a stark contrast to how her former co-stars Imran Khan (I Hate Luv Storys) and Ranbir Kapoor (Saawariya) spoke about her a few months ago as the entire nation watched Koffee with Karan on TV. When asked to rate a group of actresses on the basis of their acting prowess, both named Sonam at the bottom of the list. And when Sonam appeared on Karan's couch with Deepika Padukone, she left no stone unturned to

poke fun at Ranbir.

Speaking to the media about this treasured friendship with Shahid, Sonam points out, "I usually don't interact with my co-stars. It has been a learning experience." Sonam however also says that before filming began for Mausam, she didn't know Shahid personally. She recounts, "We started filming and talking and then became friends." Shahid in an attempt to mock-retort, burst out in peals of laughter, as he added, "We spoke about her clothes and shoes..."

As many in the audience stared in disbelief, Shahid made light of the situation and clarified, "Sonam has very high fashion standards. She doesn't interact with people who do not match her expectations with respect to fashion sensibilities."

Here's hoping their on-screen chemistry in Mausam is as vivacious as the current relationship they share off-screen.
