I am never satisfied: Men's hockey coach Nobbs
Michael Nobbs was unimpressed with the team's 15-1 win over Singapore on Saturday.

New Delhi: India might have routed a lowly Singapore by a massive margin of 15-1, but coach Michael Nobbs is still not satisfied with his wards and said the team is yet to reach its peak.

"Our passing was good but I am not satisfied with the performance. I am never satisfied actually, we are not even close to where we want to be, we haven't peaked yet and neither do we expect to peak now. The pace of the game was good and the players were sharp," he said after the opening match of the 2012 London Olympics qualifiers at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Saturday.

India's previous best against Singapore was 12-0 in the 1982 Asia Cup in Karachi. India also maintained their domination over Singapore, having won all their 14 matches.

"We practiced a few patterns in playing to score goals but we have to be more thorough. We have utilised just 70 percent of our potential. It was a one-sided game but there are always things to be learnt from every game. We had 20-25 shots at the goalpost but we need to be more ruthless, whether it is against 25 or 35-year-olds," he added.

Vice-captain and star midfielder Sardara Singh said they had set a target of scoring 19 goals at least.

"We played attacking hockey, our pressing was good and we used the chances. They had a young team and we never played them, they played okay, but our game could have been better. We had set a target of 19 goals. There were some missed chances and mistakes, we will video analyse them and work on our mistakes," Sardara said.

Asked about the low penalty corner conversion by his side, who earned six PCs but could score just one of them, Sardara admitted they have to work on that area.

"We didn't do well in the penalty corners, I mean, we could have done much better, we got quite a few PCs and we need to try to be better in this area and also in trapping the ball," he said.

"We will focus on the Canada and France games now. Our drag-flickers converted the chances, there was a misunderstanding in the defence and so we conceded one goal, and we will learn from our mistakes."
