Bangalore is a place surrounded by greenery and beautiful people.Over a period of time, few of the big names in Bollywood have come from Bangalore.Stars such as Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Dino Morea, Lara Dutta and a few others are some renowned faces of Bollywood.These stars had one platform in common – Mantri Mega Model hunt.Mantri Mega Model hunt is the selection of the hottest faces of Bangalore that are trained to face the world of Bollywood.This year the event was larger than ever.Leading choreographer Kevin Oliver and Prasad Bidapa selected 28 models out of over 150 applicants.Said Kevin,“ We had so many applicants that we narrowed down to 28 based on their height, body and commitment towards this profession.All the models went through a brief training to portrait themselves better on the ramp.Later on we selected the best by interviewing them personally, we are now down to 28 models with 14 boys and 14 girls.” The selected models made their first appearance last week at ITC Windsor.“This is a mark of celebration to the winners of the hunt and also to show Bangalore that these people might soon be the new faces of Bollywood,” said Prasad Bidapa.The models will have a number of shows this month along with a rigorous training that will help them groom better."Last year we had selected 20 models but this time we had no choice but to select 28 models because they were all good.I enjoy working with these models and we all are hoping for the best,” added Bidapa.Neha Ramesh one of the selected models said, “It is a great experience.This is a great platform for all of us to get into Bollywood.Apart from just teaching us how to walk and behave in front of the camera, they also teach us the required moral character to be in the industry.” Added Lavanya Ghorpade one of the selected models, “We just started of as 14 boys and 14 girls.We will be trained in a manner that best suits industry standards.” She added, “We all are winners here, we are here to gain experience and it's an honour to work with the best people in the industry.” The hunt is an annual event and happens only in Bangalore.“This city has a lot to offer.For many years now several people have gone big because of this event.The last year’s winners are doing really big in the industry right now,” added Kevin.The event is categorised into Miss Photogenic, Mrs Photogenic, Best Skin, Best Hair and Mantri Mega Model boy and girl.The event has no age bar, however the models are aged between 16 to 31.
