New Delhi: Cold wave conditions have revived in Himachal Pradesh following heavy snowfall in higher altitude areas.

Heavy snowfall has severely affected road traffic in Himachal Pradesh. Many places in high altitudes are cut off from the rest of the state.

More than 80 tourists are stranded in a resort in the chail kufri highway. At least 150 buses owned by the State Road Transport Corporation have been stranded at various places since Sunday.

Stuck tourists claim that administration is not doing enough to provide them with food, water, diesel and other essential commodities to survive.

These buses are caught in the interior areas of Shimla, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts due to snowfall. Snowfall has forced closure of the Manali-Leh Highway.

Fresh snowfall has stopped local transport in Keylong, the local headquarters of Lahaul.

Efforts of some tourist to make way to Shimla has hit dead end due to heavy snow. Visibility is very poor.

Shimla District collector Tarun Kapoor said, “Tourist stuck in resort Tushali and Shillon beyond Kufri on Kufri Chail road. Administration in touch with the hotel manager but its facing problem due to heavy snow and the road is also blocked. However, administration is sending more rescue mission.”
