Mumbai: Heavy rainfall in coastal Konkan region, particularly between Ratnagiri and Nivsar, led to disruption of train services on the Konkan Railway route, with water and slush accumulating on tracks at Pomendi between Ratnagiri and Nivsar section.
As a precautionary safety measure, Konkan Railway has diverted or cancelled some trains, an official release said.
The Down cancelled trains include 12133 CSTM Mangalore Junction Express leaving CSTM on Monday, 12619 LTT Mangalore 'Matsyagandha' Exp. leaving LTT on Monday and 12051 CSTM Madgaon 'Jan Shatabdi' Exp. leaving CSTM on Monday.
The Up trains cancelled include 10216 Madgaon Ernakulam Express leaving Ernakulam today, 12052 Madgaon-CSTM 'Jan Shatabdi' Exp. leaving Madgaon on Monday and 12620 Mangalore -LTT 'Matsyagandha' Exp. leaving Mangalore on Monday, the release said.
The 12977 Ernakulam Ajmer 'Marusagar' Express which left Ernakulam on Sunday has been diverted via Shoranur Junction, Jolarpettai Junction, Bangalore, Guntakal, Wadi, Solapur, Pune, Kalyan and Vasai Road.
The 12224 Ernakulam-LTT 'Duronto' Express which left Ernakulam yesterday has been diverted via Shoranur Junction, Jolarpettai Junction, Bangalore, Guntakal, Wadi, Solapur, Pune and Kalyan.
Konkan Railway has asked passengers to contact on Emergency Telephone Number 10722 for information and position/status of trains.
