HYDERABAD: The PIL bench of the AP High Court comprising chief justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Thursday ordered notice to the civic authorities on a complaint that they were not removing the illegal constructions and encroachments on the road leading to Kanipakam near Tirupati.The petitioner R. Gopalakrishna Choudary, a resident of Chittoor, complained that the road from Uttara Brahmanapalli to the temple and beyond on the way to the famous Ganesh temple at Kanipakam had a number of illegal constructions.The petition said that the illegal constructions had led to narrowing of the roads and this in turn was leading to a number of road accidents and traffic jams in the area.Court Raps Anantapur Labour Court Official Justice L. Narasimha Reddy of the AP High Court on Thursday pulled up the the presiding officer of the Anantapur Labour Court for the manner in which he was passing orders. He directed the registrar of the High Court to ask the officer to undergo training for two weeks with the Labour Court in the city.The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by the Southern Power Distribution Corporation against an award of the Labour Court.The Labour Court, had according to the petitioner, directed the reinstatement of a former employee who had produced false certificates to gain public employment.The judge noticed that the officer in another case had also passed orders of reinstatement without following the procedures laid down in this regard.
