Hyderabad: Dismissing the opposition's charge that the NDA government had adopted anti-farmer policies, BJP leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said the BJP-led government would not do anything that hurts the interests of agriculture.

Addressing a meeting with farmers' associations in Hyderabad, he said the Land Acquisition Bill being piloted by the NDA government is aimed at facilitating development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was highly sensitive to the interests of sections of the society like farmers, youth and women, he said.

Saying that farmers would not suffer because of the proposed Land Bill, he said job creation on a large scale can be done through the industrialisation. Several Telangana BJP leaders also attended the meet.
