THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will examine whether a state-level adalat can be organised here to dispose of thousands of pending applications for getting errors in SSLC books corrected, Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb told the Assembly on Tuesday.N Shamsudeen raised the issue in the Assembly, pointing out that nearly 75,000 applications were pending before the government. “There was inordinate delay in getting date of birth and other facts corrected in SSLC records,” he said.On whether district-level cells can be formed to address the issue, the minister said that  Pariksha Bhavan Secretary alone had the power to correct date of birth in SSLC books and issue corrected records. So the suggestion for district-level cells was impractical. However, in the case of LP, UP and High School students, this problem does not exist. Deputy Directors of Education concerned were empowered to correct the birth dates of LP and UP students and the District Education Officers in the case of high school students. “Effecting corrections in SSLC books had been simplified through two orders issued in March and June this year,” the Minister said.
