THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF Government is committed to the revival of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Friday. Speaking after inaugurating the two-day 38th state meeting of the Kerala State Transport Drivers’ Union (KSTDU), he said that the government’s commitment was evident from the sanctioning of Rs 130 crore for the Corporation in the budget. Finance Minister K M Mani, who inaugurated the one-year golden jubilee celebrations of the Union, said that the employees could help in the revival of the ailing Corporation. Congratulating the employees for reducing the Corporation’s debt, he said that the various unions in the Corporation should chart out a revival plan for KSRTC. Transport Minister V S Sivakumar said that he was confident of reducing the debt of the Corporation. The UDF Government has taken a favourable stand towards the KSRTC and its employees, he said.
