Panaji: Goa police have issued a look-out notice for an Uzbekistan national who is believed to have masterminded international sex racket involving Uzbek girls, police said on Tuesday.
After initial logistics trouble, Goa police have got the details of 40-year-old Gulnora Juraeva who allegedly heads the international sex racket, Crime Branch Inspector Sandesh Chodankar said.
After the racket came to light, the woman along with her Indian partner went missing and efforts to track her have failed, he added.
"She is still in India and we have issued look-out notice to ensure that she does not cross the borders," he said.
On April 9, four Uzbekistani girls – Nigora Mashrapova, 28, Rizavea Nargiza, 23, Elvira Yusupova, 33 and Rokhimova Nurkhon, 35 – were arrested for being allegedly involved in the sex trade.
Juraeva, the main accused, who has been staying at Porvori locality dotting Panaji, till recently with her Indian partner.
But after the raid, she has been found missing.
The Crime branch, during its initial investigation, had revealed that Juraeva was Russian but later confirmed that she is an Uzbek lady.
Investigations have revealed that the girls came to India under the garb of being "professionals". One amongst them had come as a student of fashion designing.
Apparently, the girls, who were non-cooperative during the investigation and do not know English properly, had arrived in Goa sometimes between December and January.
Youngest of the lot, Nargiza, had arrived just a day before she was arrested by the police.
