KOCHI: Giridhar Eye Institute has been awarded the NABH accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers, New Delhi. Dr S S Badrinath, founder and chairman, Emeritus Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, will present the NABH accreditation. Murali Srinivas, technical adviser, NABH, will deliver the keynote address and speak on ‘Quality control in healthcare - why is it necessary’. Dr A Giridhar, medical director and chief of vitreoretinal services, Giridhar Eye Institute, said that to achieve NABH standards a healthcare provider has to comply with nearly 500 objective elements covering all aspects of patient care, including registration, admission, pre-surgery and post-surgery protocols. Giridhar Eye Institute has received the ISO Certification and Sage I certification in Kerala.
