Gangster, wife killed by rivals

BELGAUM: Notorious gangster Ramappa Aryar (40) and his wife Parvati (35), who is the president of Tigadolli Gram Panchayat, were murdered brutally by a rival gang near Nayitegur village in Khanapur taluk late on Sunday.The armed gang hit their four-wheelers to the car in which Aryar and his wife were travelling. They were hit with iron rods. Aryar, a member of Nam Nayak gang operating in Belgaum, shifted his activities to Kittur after gangster Praveen Shintre was killed in an encounter about three years ago. The details of the gang are not yet known.
