HYDERABAD: The Special CBI Court on Monday sent former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brotherinlaw BV Srinivas Reddy to judicial custody till October 3. With the sixday CBI custody having come to an end, CBI officials produced the Reddys before magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma who extended their judicial remand. The Bellary barons were then taken to the Chanchalguda central jail by CBI officials.
While the CBI filed a petition seeking at least a nineday further custody of the two accused for interrogation, Janardhan Reddy's counsel moved a bail petition. Even as the court was hearing the petitions, Telangana advocates disrupted the proceedings and shouted slogans in support of Sakala Janula Samme. The magistrate remanded the two Reddys to judicial custody till October 3. Emerging out of the court, CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana said, "We filed a petition seeking nineday custody of both Janardhan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy to interrogate them.''

B Ravindranath, counsel for CBI, said no hearing could take place on Monday as advocates were observing boycott of courts. The court will hear CBI's petition on September 21 and Janardhan Reddy's bail petition on September 22.
