New Delhi: The latest iteration of Samsung's phablet - the Galaxy Note II is expected to be launched in India in the first week of October at a price of about Rs 38,000, according to a source.
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone-cum-tablet combo had started earlier this week on the Samsung India e-store. Customers have to pay a pre-booking amount of Rs 5,000. Snapdeal.com has also put up the product for pre-booking but for Rs 1,000. Snapdeal.com also mentions that the product will be available from the first week of October.
The Galaxy Note II was unveiled on August 29, 2012 at IFA 2012 Berlin.
The Note II runs on the latest version of Google's Android operating system - version 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phablet is designed to work well with a stylus for jotting notes and drawing on a screen, while styluses for other devices tend to be an afterthought.
The Note's large screen also makes the phone more like a tablet and more suitable for playing games and consuming content. Samsung started selling a tablet version of the Note this month.
The Galaxy Note II features a 5.5-inch (140.9mm) HD Super AMOLED screen with a 16:9 ratio and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will be available in two colours - Marble White and Titanium Gray.
