From NOT to HOT! Watch Shah Rukh's dramatic transformation
Shah Rukh Khan wasn't always the oh-so-perfect, superbly stylish and sexy star we know and adore.

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan wasn't always the oh-so-perfect, superbly stylish and extremely sexy star we've all come to know and adore. Like any other celebrity, King Khan has also had moments which oppose his interpretation as a fashion forward star. It is hard to believe that Shah Rukh Khan, who is getting better with age, has also committed fashion faux pas, even if it was through not-so-flattering looks he sported in his films. We've rounded up his not-so-impressive and striking fashion moments to explain how he has gradually succeeded in flaunting his style credentials.

####Shah Rukh Khan and Divya Bharti shared a crackling chemistry in the 1992 film ’Deewana’, but does he look chic and stylish? Nah! Blazers embellished with tacky embroidery may have been acceptable then, but it never made SRK look interesting.

Shah Rukh Khan has mastered the geek look with his thick glasses by now, but back in 1992, it was new. In this still from ’Baazigar’, both Shilpa Shety and SRK look way too funny and bizarre.

Shah Rukh Khan and Urmila Matondkar starrer ’Chamatkar’ didn’t just have a funny plot, it had several moments in which King Khan looked weird. SRK, who played a villager, was spotted wearing a spiritual locket. Shah Rukh, wouldn’t you think twice before wearing those ugly studs again?

In ’King Uncle’, SRK was paired opposite Nagma. Even a cursory glance at this photo is enough to realise how the stylist ruined SRK’s image. What made the stylist get this repulsive jacket? And what made SRK wear this ugly baggy jacket? Take a closer look and you’d realise the jacket is much wider than his shoulder.

Oh dear… we love to hate this look in ’Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. We really didn’t love SRK’s tacky style sense as much as his happy-go-lucky attitude.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan may be arch rivals, but not many know that the stars had a special appearance in ’Dushman Duniya Ka’. Directed by Mehmood, the film saw SRK sport Charlie Chaplin moustache. The unique, playful look wouldn’t go down well who refer to SRK as ’King of Romance’.

There is nothing wrong in essaying the role of a folk singer, but when SRK was seen in the same avatar in ’Chaahat’, it didn’t work in his favour. Wrapping what looks like a girl’s dupatta around his forehead doesn’t mean he did justice to his role. He could have opted for a look that made his character more believable.

Who can forget the famous film ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’? Those who think suspenders make a man hot should take a look at this photo. Do you need more explanation?

When Shah Rukh Khan worked with Karisma Kapoor in ’Dil Toh Pagal Hai’, many thought he had realised his fashion blunders and was keen to wear something more stylish and comfortable.

The film may not have done well at the Box Office, but Shah Rukh Khan is still remembered for the street-smart Max of the Eagles gang. The character he played was completely different from the typical Raj, for which SRK is popular. Thankfully, everything – leather jacket, gloves, dark shades, the bandanna – was perfect.

That’s more like a perfect hero. Shah Rukh Khan got extra conscious about his fitness in ‘Om Shanti Om’. The extra hours he invested to build this physique for the song ‘Dard-e-Disco’ helped him gain more appreciation and popularity.

Shah Rukh Khan’s intense look made ’Asoka’ a lot interesting. The actor sported shoulder length locks, a huge tilak on his forehead, and a sword to complete the look of Prince Asoka.

The serious look, the rugged beard and the steely firmness in the eyes, every bit worked in his favour in ’Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.

Shah Rukh Khan’s lungi dance with Deepika Padukone in ’Chennai Express’ was entertaining. We are sure, his fan base down South, courtesy his never-before-seen South Indian look.

What's your reaction?
