The plant, which would be constructed under Self Sufficiency Scheme (SSS) at a cost of `45 lakh, is likely to function from mid September this year.The district administration and the administration of Arcot Municipality have initiated the process which would be implemented by MAILHEM Engineers Pvt Ltd based in Pune.The merchant associations, philanthropists, councillors of municipality and Arcot MLA R Srinivasan have pooled in `23.10 lakh out of `45 lakh, while the remaining amount was funded by the District Rural Development Agency under SSS. “At present, the waste is high and electricity generation is low in the State.
