CHENNAI: It’s official now! Chennai-based designer Sidney Sladen has designed three different bridal attires for actress Genelia D’Souza. The actress, who will be tying the knot with Riteish Deshmukh on February 3, has asked her designer friend, Sidney, to design her bridal attires. Sources close to the actress also inform that Genelia had ordered several bridal clothes from designers based out of Delhi and Mumbai. However, Sidney Sladen, who is now in Mumbai to attend the actress’s sangeet ceremony, says, “It’s very sweet of her to invite me for her wedding and also ask me to design her bridal clothes. However, she has not revealed whether she will wear these on the big day.”Having carved a niche for himself in Chennai with his creations, Sidney has already designed three fabulous dresses for the actress. He explains, “I have designed three different attires — a traditional red-colour ghagra with heavily embroidered zardosi pattern, chunky stones and sequins on it to make it look grand. The second one is an evening flowing gown in a sea green colour with a Greek-Roman silhouette. The last one is a cocktail dress in a light grey tone. I have already given her the clothes. She did look happy and excited. I’m also sure she has picked up clothes from popular designers from Mumbai. Now, I have to just wait and watch what the bride will decide to wear on her big day.”
