Fire breaks out in Nauchandi Express
A fire broke out in a compartment of a stationary train at the junction in Allahabad.

Allahabad: Passengers on the Nauchandi Express from Saharanpur to Allahabad had a narrow escape earlier on Monday, when a fire broke out inside the train, minutes after they had gotten off.

The incident took place at about 12.30 pm, shortly after the Nauchandi express coming from Saharanpur terminated at platform 8, a North Central Railways spokesman Amit Malviya told the PTI.

"All the passengers had alighted from the train before a sleeper coach caught fire. Fire brigade personnel were pressed into service and the blaze was extinguished within half an

hour," he said.

No passengers or firefighters were injured in the blaze. One compartment has been partly damaged. However, railway authorities say they still don't know what caused the fire.
