BHUBANESWAR: Property Xpo-2012, the mega property fair hosted by State Bank of India (SBI, got underway here on Friday showcasing properties approved by the bank in the State Capital region. The three-day expo was inaugurated by Chief General Manager (CGM) of Bhubaneswar Circle Praveen Gupta.The first-of-its-kind event has put on display 30 housing projects located in Bhubaneswar and its periphery. The objective is to facilitate prospective customers to see and evaluate a wide variety of properties under a single platform and make appropriate decisions as per their needs and budgets.“We have showcased a complete mix of dwelling units suitable to every section of the customers __ from low-cost houses to premium housing. Housing units start from as low as ` 12 lakh and go up to over ` 70 lakh,” Gupta said.The expo has also brought under one roof a complete array of services related to housing sector from legal to insurance. Subsidiary services of SBI are participants.Those customers, who would zero in on their dream project, will be given on-spot in-principle sanction of home loans, Gupta added.Considering the enthusiastic response to the expo, plans are also afoot to hold such events in other major towns and cities of the State which are witnessing a housing boom, the CGM said.Among others, General Manager, Network II Devendra Prasad, GM, Network I, Rajiv Verma, DGM P B Sarathi and AGM Shankar Banerjee were present.
