New Delhi: Renowned Bollywood film director Raj Kanwar died today in Singapore. Kanwar was suffering from a kidney ailment. He had started his career as a director from 'Deewana' in 1992. Later he went on to make big hits such as 'Laadla', 'Jeet', Judaai', 'Daag', 'Badal', 'Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega' and 'Andaaz'.
Shah Rukh Khan tweets about his demise," My friend raj kanwarji passed away.The impermanence of life,makes one feel so helpless. May his soul rest in peace.Aisi Deewangi..miss u sir."
Madhur Bhandarkar also tweets," Sad to hear about director Raj Kanwar's demise. RIP."
Several other Bollywood actors have tweeted about Kanwar's death.
Arjun Rampal: "Just heard the saddest news of Mr Raj Kanwar's demise, had the opportunity of interacting with him.Pray for his soul and strength to family."

His last film was 'Sadiyaan' that was released in 2010. He helped actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in getting established in the Hindi film industry. He was known for giving a different treatment to the otherwise ordinary love stories.
