A farmer, reportedly depressed over acquisition of his fertile land for an upcoming power project in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district, committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree in Bhujbhuja village, police said on Monday.
Kinker Patel (26) was dissatisfied with acquisition of land for the power plant being set up the state government in collaboration with a private player, they said.
He hanged himself to a tree in his village on Sunday, police said.
Patel was depressed for some time over his one-acre of agriculture land being taken over for the project. He had attempted suicide earlier also but was saved.
