Ex-Petroleum Employees Union leader held

KARAIKAL: A team of officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested C Sethupathy, former general secretary of South India Petroleum Employees Union at Karaikal. Sethupathy is now serving with the ONGC Cauvery Asset, Karaikal.Following allegations of disproportionate wealth,the CBI team carried out search operations at Sethupathy’s residence in Nagapattinam in July last year. Thereafter, a case was registered against him.The CBI filed a chargesheet at the Karaikal Sessions Court and arrested Sethupathy on Wednesday. He was produced before the Karaikal Sessions Judge, who remanded him.
