MANGALORE: A 24-year-old youth from Kokkada Upparapalike died of suspected Endosulfan poisoning at District Wenlock hospital on Sunday.Janardhana Gowda is the second victim of suspected Endosulfan poisoning. The only son to Jinnappa Gowda, the deceased was working as a room boy at a lodging in Subrahmanya five years ago. He was forced to return home following recurring headaches. Later, he was admitted to Adarsha Hospital in Puttur where he was diagnosed with brain tumour. In May, he underwent a brain surgery in the district Wenlock hospital and was soon discharged.Janaradhan’s surgery had pushed the family into a huge debt. Worse Jinnappa Gowda was also a tuberculosis patient and suffered from breathing problems. District anti-Endosulfan committee convener Sridhar Gowda, with other members like Shivananda and Mohan Gowda had raised `8,000 and handed it over to the family. The body was taken to Kokkada for cremation.
