THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state committee of the DYFI, in a statement issued here on Wednesday, has congratulated the National Film Award winners including Suveeran, who directed the award-winning film Byari, Sherry, who got a special mention for his film Aadimadhyantham, Ranjith, who directed the best Malayalam movie Indian Rupee, best actress Vidya Balan and Mallika, who got a special mention for her acting in Byari. They said that the film Aadhimadhyantham getting a special mention is answer enough to Minister Ganeshkumar and those who had denied entry to this film to the International Film Festival of Kerala. Suveeran’s film Byari is the beginning of a new film culture in the state, they said. DYFI state president M Swaraj and secretary T V Rajesh said it was Ganeshkumar’s stubbornness that had led to the exit of experimental new films from the festival.
