Hopes that the two leaders would bury the hatchet, requests senior party leaders to intervene..

MANGALORE: In a startling revelation on the one-upmanship within the party, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday wished that the BJP senior leaders would intervene to redress issues in the party. After receiving the ‘guard of honour’ in Mangalore Airport, he said that leaders attempting to solve the differences were hoping that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and state BJP president K S Eshwarappa would bury the hatchet. “Party bosses also should intervene and redress other issues confronting the party,” he stressed.Insisting that too much should not be read into Energy Minister Shoba Karandlaje’s visit to New Delhi, the chief minister said that she was in the capital to only discuss developmental projects with the Centre. “As a minister, she has the responsibility of briefing party bosses about happenings in BJP,” Gowda explained. The CM also announced that the next 10-day assembly session had been planned from January 30.  A discussion on the budget was also scheduled in the first week of March. The chief minister hoped that the upcoming session, like previous sessions, would prove to be successful. Gowda also dismissed allegations that police officials in Sullia were either transferred or placed under suspension at his behest. “According to information I have, the police had gone overboard with their actions in diffusing tension. However, I have given my officers a free hand. The action was initiated based on a high-level enquiry conducted by ADGP Bipin Gopalkrishna,” the chief minister stressed.
