BELLARY: The postponement of functions to hand over Aasare houses for flood affected people in Siruguppa taluk has raised many eyebrows. The programme scheduled for Saturday and Sunday was cancelled in a hurry.
It is learnt that Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's desire to participate in the event has been the reason for postponement of the programmes, however, the invitation printed by the district administration had no mention of the name of the CM. Even Siruguppa tahsildar Geetha had briefed the media on Thursday evening about the programme. According to her, Minister G Janardhan Reddy would inaugurate the programme and distribute the houses. Ministers G Karunakar Reddy and B Sriramulu were supposed to participate as special guests. But the letter from the CM's office stayed the entire programme.
