New Delhi: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday rejected criticism of the government's decision to shift the Delhi gangrape survivor to a hospital in Singapore saying that the decision was made after consultation with specialists, including Dr Naresh Trehan of Medanta - The Medicity.
"The doctors treating the girl at the Safdarjung Hospital, along with Dr Trehan, were consulted," Shinde said during a press conference after the all-party meet on the Telangana issue.
Responding to a query on the measures proposed by the Home Ministry to tackle the rising incidents of violence against women, Shinde said that he had suggested the recruitment of more women police officers in Delhi Police. "I have suggested the recruitment of more women police officers. I have suggested that there should be at least one team of women personnel at each police station," he said.
