Delhi Police writes to Pak High Commission seeking permission to quiz Mehr Tarar
Sunanda had had a public spat with Tarar on Twitter accusing her of having an affair with her husband and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor just a few days before her death.

New Delhi: Seeking more details in the Sunanda Pushkar murder case, Delhi Police Special Investigation team (SIT) has written a letter to Pakistan High Commission requesting them to facilitate journalist Mehr Tarar's questioning.

Sunanda had had a public spat with Tarar on Twitter accusing her of having an affair with her husband and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor just a few days before her death.

Earlier this month, the Pakistani journalist had said that she is willing to answer any questions that the Delhi Police may have but will not travel to Delhi to be quizzed.

Tarar admitted that fighting with Sunanda on Twitter was her biggest mistake. "I hope this ends soon. I have nothing to do with the case," she had said.

Journalist Nalini Singh who was questioned in the case said that Sunanda was distraught over Tharoor's relations with other women. In her statement to the SDM on January 20, 2014, Nalini had said that she received a call from Sunanda, who was her friend, a night before her death. "Sunanda was distraught that Tharoor and Tarar were exchanging romantic messages," Singh said.

Sunanda had also told Singh that she had proof of Tharoor and Tarar having spent time together in Dubai in June 2013. She also confided to Singh that she had "taken over the crimes of Tharoor in the IPL matter"
