New Delhi: Armed men, who came in two motorcycles, shot at a manager of the UCO Bank and took away the bag in which he was carrying cash worth Rs 29 lakh in South Delhi on Friday.
The daring robbery took place at Sangam Vihar’s H Block when three armed attacked the bank manager in broad daylight. An agency report, however, said two gunmen were involved in the incident.
The three shot at the bank manager before decamping with Rs 29 lakh.
The bank manager, Vinod Arora, was admitted to the Batra Hospital and operated
upon. His condition is out of danger now, said a senior police official.
A Delhi Police team rushed to the spot and launched an immediate probe.
Vinod was on his way to Saket to deposit the money at the bank's main branch when the attack took place.
Earlier this year, a man posing as a human bomb had robbed Rs 40 lakh from the Vikaspuri branch of UTI Bank in May.
