CHENNAI: Jazz up your wedding with Swarovski encrusted invitations, innovative velvet cards oozing style yet being traditional, says the owner of the brand PG studio, Puneet Gupta, who was in the city recently to launch his brand. This is no ordinary paper shop. It’s a luxury invitation brand that caters to high-end customers who wouldn’t mind splurging on the invitation to keep them a class apart. “The first glimpse your guests get of your wedding day should reflect the two of you and your unique style. The wedding cards should reflect the grandeur of your wedding,” says the young designer.Puneet, a NIFT graduate, designs these cards as intricately as designing a wedding trousseau. “When you can splurge so much only for the décor, a wedding invitation should also hold value. To keep it rich and traditional, wedding cards designed with brocades in velvet, satin and silk stand as an epitome of luxury,” he says.Like how trends change in clothes, Puneet says wedding invitations also have a unique trend to be followed. “We have different colour palette for all seasons. Also, the patterns change with the colour and style. Now, a lot of European and vintage patterns are in vogue. Most couples like to have floral prints inspired from the European countryside and also with antique finishes.” Talking about the most preferred styles in wedding invitation, the designer explains that a lot of Indians like images of princes and princesses on the card. In fact, instead of the usual cards, people like to go for decorated boxes. We make use of a lot of wood to design invitation boxes, which can later be used as jewellery or trinket boxes.” Customised invitation boxes, handcrafted cards and decorative gift hampers are also part of PG studio. However, his designs are not repeated and are mostly theme-based. “If a couple wants an elegant, romantic soiree, then intricate detailed patterns and borders will set the mood for a dreamy, luscious, romantic day. There are decorative wedding invitations that exude old-world charm with a modern twist. Each and every wedding invitation is customised to match your wedding.”The wedding invitations range from `250 to 2,000. His designs are showcased at Erum Ali's Bridal Lounge on Khader Nawaz Khan Road. For details, call 09911116749.
