New Delhi: Nikhil Advani's debut film 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' was a blockbuster. Helmed by Karan Johar, Advani got a dream film to debut as a director. But after 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', Nikhil's next two releases were not able to match up to the stupendous success that 'Kal Ho Na Ho' got.
Touted as a big release of this year, Advani's latest 'D-Day' is an espionage film. The multi- starrer film has Rishi Kapoor playing the antagonist, a slimy gangster who operates from Pakistan and is the most wanted man in India. Arjun Rampal, Irrfan, Huma Qureshi plays undercover special officers who are sent to Pakistan to bring back the most wanted man of the country to India.
Those who have seen the film have stated that Rishi Kapoor is a revelation in the film. The chocolate boy of the 80s has already played a negative role in 'Agneepath' to perfection and it would be interesting to see what new elements Kapoor gets to his character in 'D Day'.
Advani who won a National Award for the animation film 'Delhi Safari' recently, comes back to mainstream commercial cinema after a long time with this film. Would it live up to the hype? Is the film really that good as it is being made out to be? Will Nikhil Advani be able to repeat his 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' success?
