Ahmedabad: Tropical cyclone 'Phet' in the Arabian sea intensified further, however, the storm stood stationary about 1,050 km off
Gujarat coast during the day as some parts of Gujarat received rainfall.
The coastal region is experiencing strong winds and widespread rainfall but no cyclone alert has been issued yet.
According to the state government all the fishermen have returned back to base and essential goods have been stocked up at the four districts likely to get hit. Two persons died near Jamnagar due to lightning and turbulent sea, police said.

"The current environmental condition and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models suggest that the system would intensify further and move slowly in a north-northwesterly/ northerly direction in the next 24 hours, close to Oman coast and then re-curve northeastwards towards Pakistan and adjoining Gujarat coast, skirting Oman coast," an official said.
IMD officials said that under the influence of 'Phet' widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls would commence over coastal areas of Gujarat from June 4, and increase thereafter.
According to weather department, wind speed in the coastal areas of Gujarat would reach 65-75 kmph by Thursday and increase gradually.
Sea would be rough with waves from southwesterly direction and fishermen have been advised not to go out in the sea till tomorrow, they said. The ports in the state have also been asked to hoist distress warning signal 2.
